description: Large blocky translucent colorless crystals of anglesite measuring to almost 2.0 cm in size over the top of this 8.0 x 6.0 x 4.0 cm galena rich matrix. Minor damage present, this mainly confined to the edges of the matrix, as seen. All of the large prominent crystals are in very good condition. Good large anglesite crystals such as these are almost never seen available from this locality on today's market. Most certainly this was collected during the heyday of mining here between 1861 in 1870. Previous label from W.J. Knowlton Natural History Store.
