A beautiful thumbnail sized cluster of lustrous prismatic azurite crystals. Crystallized green malachite is present as well. This is complete all around and in great condition.

The Bou Beker mining area, located in the Jerada Province of the Oriental Region in Morocco, is part of the extensive Touissit-Bou Beker Mississippi Valley-Type lead and zinc district. Modern industrial extraction began during the French protectorate era following World War I, developing into a major subterranean mining center that fueled the regional economy through the mid-twentieth century. Geologically, the deposits are hosted within Jurassic carbonate platform sequences, where metal-bearing hydrothermal fluids circulated through faults and brecciated zones to deposit primary lead and zinc sulfides. Subsequent deep oxidation processes transformed these primary ores into a diverse array of secondary minerals, making the district world-famous among mineral collectors for yielding exceptional specimens of anglesite, azurite, cerussite, and vanadinite.
