Lustrous deep blue crystals of azurite to 1.5 cm in size scattered nicely across this matrix. Many of the crystal groupings are being altered to green malachite. The specimen is in perfect condition. The specimen comes with a series of previous labels, and at one time was part of the famous collection of H. von Karabecek. For background on this collection see the book Tsumeb II, by Georg Gebhard, pps 108-109. The specimen is likely mined in the very early 1900s. Also at one time part of the collection at Harvard University.
