Barite with Galena
specimen number:
8811282
location:
Silverband mine, Knock, Cumbria, England, UK
description:
A superb old time classic British combination specimen. I have sold hundreds of barite specimens from this locality over the years, this is the nicest I have handled with the combination of galena present. Bright and lustrous barite crystals that are gem quality are on matrix with semi lustrous to non-lustrous crystals of galena. This is in really good condition all around. The specimen comes with several previous labels, including one from the collection of Richard Barstow, this a white label designating that this is from his personal private collection as opposed to his normal mineral stock. The stock labels would normally carry a green label.
