Barite with Manganite
specimen number:
8811102
location:
Lucy mine, Marquette Co., Michigan, USA
description:
Nice combination piece for this locality with white bladed crystals of barite across the top of a lustrous black crystallized manganite matrix. In very good condition. Quite a paperwork trail comes with this one, the earlier labels saying that this is from Germany however the piece is definitely from Michigan as confirmed. One of the labels notes that the piece was acquired in 1965 by Gene Tribbey, this from David New, and that at the time was considered to have come from a very old collection.
