Bayldonite after Mimetite with Azurite
specimen number:
8691044
location:
Tsumeb mine, Otjikoto, Namibia
description:
Prismatic crystals of what were once mimetite measuring to 1.0 cm in length now replaced by green bayldonite and scattered across the top of this matrix with attractive blue lustrous bladed azurite crystals. What at first appears to be damage to some of the azurite is natural crystallization, this piece is in very good condition. Crystallized completely all around. The specimen comes with a previous collection label from noted author William Sanborn.
