This is a wonderful large example for this mineral. A metallic semi lustrous incredibly large and sharp crystal of native bismuth, this set on a matrix of massive golden chalcopyrite. In super condition. There are negative casts on the backside of this piece, probably after quartz crystals now gone. This is seen in the video. Outstanding for this mineral.

The Piaotang Mine, located in Dayu County within Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, China, is situated in the Nanling metallogenic belt, a region globally famous for its massive reserves of tungsten and rare metals. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within Mesozoic granitic intrusions and surrounding low-grade metamorphic sedimentary rocks, where complex multi-stage hydrothermal activities and greisenization formed extensive networks of quartz veins bearing tungsten, tin, and bismuth mineralization. Historically, modern mining in the Dayu area began around 1917 when regional tungsten deposits were systematically discovered and worked by local miners, eventually expanding into a major mechanized state-run operation during the twentieth century and remaining an important active center within the region known historically as the tungsten capital of the world.
