Bournonite with Sphalerite
specimen number:
1801123
location:
Wheal Boys, St Endellion, Cornwall, England, UK
description:
While specimens from the Herodsfoot Mine are certainly more well known and famous, the actual type locality for the species is from this locality. At first called Endellionite, after the nearby village. This example shows bright metallic crystals of bournonite to 0.5 cm in size over both sides of a crystallize sphalerite matrix measuring 4.5 x 3.5 x 1.0 cm in size. Very minimal micro-chipping present, I still think in very good condition. Previous label from the Borland collection. Shipping weight: 0.13 pounds. Ex Ed Raines collection.
Size: 4.5 x 3.5 x 1.0 cm (miniature)
Collection: Ed Raines
