Killa Saifullah, located in the Balochistan province of Pakistan, has a rich regional history rooted in the traditional tribal lands of the Kakar Pashtun people, gaining official district status in 1988 and taking its name from a historic fort built by local leader Saifullah Khan. Geologically, the area is situated within the Muslim Bagh ophiolite complex of the Zhob Valley, a major tectonic suture zone where oceanic lithosphere was thrust onto the continental margin. Within this complex, intense hydrothermal alteration and the serpentinization of ultramafic rocks like dunite created ideal conditions for secondary mineralization. Mineralogically, the district became world famous for producing some of the finest specimens of brucite ever discovered. Unlike the dull, white or gray masses common elsewhere, the brucite from this region is celebrated for its striking, vibrant lemon-yellow to translucent green colors and smooth botryoidal crystal habits, making it a prized material among global mineral collectors.
