description: Gorgeous pink crystals of manganese rich calcite measuring to 4.0 cm across covering completely the top of a 22.0 x 21.0 x 5.0 cm matrix. Very minimal micro-chipping present, overall I think this is in great condition. Beautiful large example for this Colorado classic. From the Black Bear vein in this famous mine, a previous label notes that this was at one time from a miner in Gunnison, Colorado by the name of Ralph Stitzer, dating the piece to the early 1960s. Ex Mark & Karen Vendl collection.
