Calcite
specimen number:
2051201
location:
Terlingua, Brewster Co., Texas, USA
description:
Outstanding hand sized display example for the species from this important Texas locality. Brown pearly slightly translucent blocky rhombohedral crystals of calcite to 2.0 cm across are covering all sides but the bottom of this 11.5 x 7.5 x 5.0 cm matrix. Overall this is in excellent condition. Brightly fluorescent, this does stand up by itself for display naturally. Previous data card dates this back to 1973. We originally sold the specimen years ago to Mr. Martin, it came out of a collection and Wabash, Indiana that we acquired in the late 1990s. Shipping weight: 1.11 pounds. Ex Phil Martin collection.
Size: 11.5 x 7.5 x 5.0 cm (cabinet)
Collection: Phil Martin
