Calcite
specimen number:
4751121
location:
Stank mine, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England, UK
description:
A superb old British classic with partly gemmy lustrous scalenohedral crystals of calcite measuring to just under 3.0 cm in height coming off matrix. Very minimal cleaving present, this shown up close in the video. I think overall this is in super condition, especially considering the age of the specimen. These crystals exhibit fluorescence. Previous label from the famous American mineral dealer George L English.
