Choice lustrous twinned crystals of calcite coming off matrix. In good condition.

The Leiping Mine in Hunan Province, China is a polymetallic mining locality known for the production of lead, zinc, and other base metals. The deposit occurs in hydrothermal veins and replacement bodies hosted in carbonate rocks. Mining activity in the district expanded during the late 20th century and produced a variety of mineral specimens. The locality is also known among collectors for minerals such as fluorite, calcite, and sulfide species from this mining district. Calcite twins such as this example were collected in the late 1990's.
