Calcite
specimen number:
9744003
location:
Pelican Mine, Joplin Field, Jasper Co., Missouri, USA
description: Classic old time grouping of almost transparent scalenohedral calcite crystals measuring to 5.5 cm in size. These are set nicely across the top of matrix. Cleaving is present as seen. These areas are pointed out in the video. Still very fine. A previous antique label comes with the specimen, this providing the locality in Oklahoma. If this is truly from the mine stated on the label, the mine was located within Joplin.
