Calcite (repaired)
specimen number:
2013382
location:
Irving Materials Quarry, Anderson, Indiana, USA
description:
This locality is justly famous for its beautiful twinned calcite specimens. These are almost always entirely as loose single crystals and not on matrix. This current example is actually a matrix specimen in the twin crystal is over 3.0 cm across. This has been repaired, but considering the rarity of such a thing, I have no issue with this.
Size: 6.0 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm (small-cabinet)
Collection: Harris Precht
