Calcite with Fluorite
specimen number:
5004419
location:
Orismuhle quarry, Nuglar-St. Pantaleon, Dorneck, Solothurn, Switzerland
description:
An interesting locality example for the species, sharp crystals of cubic fluorite measuring to 0.7 cm on edge are scattered throughout this matrix with colorless gemmy scalenohedral crystals of calcite. In good condition with very minimal micro-chipping present. The specimen comes with several previous collection labels as shown at the end of the video. Very different from what one normally sees with Swiss fluorite. This is brightly fluorescent under longwave ultraviolet light.
