location:
Blackstone Mine, Shullsburg, Wisconsin, USA
description:
An excellent classic example from the upper Mississippi Valley area in Wisconsin. Lustrous gemmy colorless crystals of calcite measuring to 2.5 cm in size across a crystallized golden marcasite matrix. This is in really fine condition. This was likely collected in the 1960s. Crystallized naturally all around. The marcasite is still quite stable.
