Calcite with Marcasite
specimen number:
3801270
location:
Drift 106 north, Brushy Creek mine, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description:
Superb cabinet piece from this well documented classic find, the specimen from collecting activities in the middle 1990s. Large lustrous slightly translucent scalenohedral calcite crystals in a grouping with crystallized marcasite. The crystal at right exhibits twinning. Sits perfectly by itself for display on a cleaved base. The crystal at right is cleaved on the bottom which is not seen when displayed. The only other cleavage present is on one of the smaller crystals up the side of the large crystal as seen in the video. Overall I think in very good condition.
Size: 22.0 x 14.0 x 7.0 cm (large-cabinet)
