From a distinctive find at this famous locality in the 1970s. A spiky cluster of what appear to be somewhat naturally etched calcite crystals coming off matrix. This is in excellent condition.

The Brushy Creek Mine, situated within the world-class Viburnum Trend in Reynolds County, Missouri, is a major producer of lead, zinc, and copper. Geologically, the deposit is a classic example of Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) mineralization, hosted primarily within the Cambrian-aged Bonneterre Dolomite. The ore formed as metal-rich basinal brines migrated through the porous sedimentary rock and encountered sulfur, leading to the precipitation of massive sulfide bodies along the flanks of the Precambrian St. Francois Mountains. Historically, the mine began its primary period of operation in 1973 under the St. Joe Minerals Corporation and has remained a significant industrial site for over five decades. Currently operated by the Doe Run Company.
