Calcite with Quartz
specimen number:
7102084
location:
Casteel #35 Mine, Viburnum Trend, Iron Co., Missouri, USA
description:
Glassy very gemmy yellow scalenohedral calcite crystal measuring 4.5 cm in length set nicely upon an 8.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm quartz crystal matrix. Very minor chalcopyrite present as well. Light cleaving on the bottom edge of the crystal, still I think in good condition. The quality in terms of luster and transparency for the calcite crystal, not to mention the associated quartz matrix, makes this one quite neat for the mining district. Shipping weight: 0.44 pounds.
Size: 8.0 x 7.0 x 4.0 cm (small-cabinet)
Collection: Viburnum Trend
