The specimen comes with an antique label as seen at the end of the video that dates to the very early 20th century. The crystal is in remarkable condition given the age and size.

Celestine from Put in Bay, Ohio, found on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, is associated with one of the most notable celestine deposits in the United States and has been known since at least the 19th century. The mineral occurs in cavities within dolostone of Silurian age, where celestine formed as pale blue to colorless crystals lining vugs and geodes. Mining and quarrying activity in the area during the late 1800s and early 1900s exposed many of these pockets, making specimens available to collectors. Some material was also recovered during commercial quarry operations for lime and construction stone. Specimens from Put in Bay are considered classic and relatively old, with many pieces in collections today dating back many decades, often retaining early labels from historic collectors and dealers.
