description: Calvin Otto "Cal" Gettings (1905 to 1990) was a mineral collector and local dealer based in the Toledo, Ohio area who was active in the mid 20th century. He was known within the regional collecting community for distributing mineral specimens, particularly from Ohio and Michigan, and was active as a collector by at least 1950. Gettings operated a service station in East Toledo that also served as a base for his mineral activities, including sales and exchanges with other collectors.
Lustrous blocky blue crystals of Celestine measuring to 1.5 cm in size across the front of matrix with minor calcite. This is in excellent condition. Unusual locality example not often seen available on the market, the quality is excellent. At one time this was part of the collection of Cal Gettings.
