Celestine with Calcite
specimen number:
3772480
location:
Gordonsville mine, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA
description:
Exceptionally rare specimen for this locality with true Celestine crystals lustrous and gemmy to almost 2.0 cm in length and crystalline calcite. This has been confirmed and it is true Celestine, not a barium rich variety. In great condition, previous label notes that this was collected on the haulage level about 80 feet above the main level, about 300 to 400 feet east of the shaft.
