description:
Light blue translucent crystallized Celestine in a cluster with minor strontianite. In good condition, collected in the late 1980s. A previous note with the specimen mentions that this was collected during construction of a major highway interchange. The specimen is apparently in the process of being reabsorbed or altering to strontianite. The site is now permanently buried under concrete, steel, and grass.
