The Nakhlak Mine, located in the Anarak district of Nain County in Isfahan Province, Iran, is one of the country's oldest and most historically significant lead mining operations, with archaeological evidence suggesting activity dating back pre-Islam and structured modern operations established in the early 20th century. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within Paleozoic and Mesozoic carbonate sequences that have been intruded by fault zones, allowing hydrothermal fluids to deposit lead and zinc mineralization. Mineralogically, the mine is renowned for its rich assemblage of lead minerals, most notably exceptional, well-formed crystals of wulfenite, cerussite, and anglesite that have made Nakhlak a celebrated locality for mineral collectors worldwide.
