The Nikolaevskiy Mine, located in the Dalnegorsk mineral district of Primorsky Krai, Russia, is situated within the Sikhote-Alin mountain range. The regional geology is characterized by complex skarn and carbonate-host systems formed through late Mesozoic and Cenozoic magmatic activity, which introduced metal-rich hydrothermal solutions into limestone and sedimentary layers. Developed extensively during the Soviet era to extract industrial polymetallic ores containing lead and zinc, the underground operations cut through rich skarn cavities and vugs. These geological conditions created an environment for mineral formation, making the mine famous among mineral collectors for producing crystallized specimens of fluorite, calcite, galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and quartz.
