Botryoidal crystallized malachite across the top of matrix, this partially coated with deep bluish green chrysocolla. Black heterogenite is present as well. This is an old time specimen that comes with a label from Ward's Natural Science Establishment as shown at the end of the video.

The Likasi Mine, located in Kambove within the Haut-Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a historic copper-cobalt mining district with extraction dating back to the early 20th century under Belgian colonial rule. Geologically, the deposit is situated within the Central African Copperbelt, hosted in Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks where intense weathering and supergene enrichment processes led to the formation of rich secondary ore zones near the surface. Mineralogically, the area is world-renowned for its diverse and stunning assortment of secondary copper minerals, producing exceptional specimens of malachite, heterogenite, chrysocolla, and cuprite that are highly prized by collectors and museums worldwide.
