Dypingdal near Snarum in Modum, Norway, is a classic mineral locality known for its granitic pegmatites. These pegmatites are part of the larger Drammen granite area and formed during late stage crystallization of granitic magma. The locality is especially known for well crystallized minerals such as beryl, feldspar, quartz, and rare species including phenakite and fluorapatite. Specimens from the area have been collected since the 19th century and remain of interest to mineral collectors and researchers.
