Very neat an interesting historical specimen showing crystallized native copper forming casts after now gone calcite and or quartz. At one time, the specimen was part of the collection at the Cranbrook Institute. Ex Pollard collection, there is a letter detailing about Joseph Pollard who originally collected the specimen sometime between 1860 in 1910. He arrived in the U.S. at the age of 18 in 1858, coming from Cornwall. He became the Mine Captain at the Calumet and Hecla mine by the end of his career. This letter is shown at the end of the video and of course will accompany the specimen.
