description: Deep red to almost black lustrous sharp crystals of octahedral cuprite measuring to 1.0 cm in size across the top of matrix. In good condition, nice large crystals for the species from this famous mining district. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. This piece would date to the late 19th century or early 20th century. Note on the back of the specimen the $3.50 price tag from that time.. The specimen was acquired from well-known American dealer Lazard Cahn.
