This specimen features lustrous, deep red cuprite crystals reaching up to 0.4 cm in size, scattered across a contrasting quartz matrix and displaying classic crystal forms. While some damage is present, the piece remains visually appealing and retains the bright, saturated coloration characteristic of cuprite from this historic locality. Originating from Redruth, within the renowned Cornish mining district, this area was a major center of copper mining from the 18th century onward and produced world class copper and associated mineral specimens prized throughout Europe. Preserved with an antique label dating to the early 20th century, or possibly earlier, visible at the end of the video, this specimen carries strong historical provenance. A fine example of classic Cornish mineralogy, combining aesthetic charm with significant historical interest.
