Notable sites like the Yates Mine became famous during the 1950s for radioactive mineral exploration, specifically for thorianite and uranothorite, though commercial success was limited. Dark green to almost black lustrous thick double terminated crystal of diopside little attached mica on one side. In great condition all around. Nice for this locality and species.
