Dioptase with Calcite
specimen number:
2301131
location:
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto, Namibia
description: A stunning absolutely gorgeous large cabinet display piece consisting of a 24.5 x 12.0 x 10.0 cm matrix, the front side covered with crystallized calcite which is in turn almost completely coated sparkling deep emerald green crystals of dioptase averaging 0.2 cm in size. The piece stands perfectly by itself for display. Very minimal micro-chipping is present, this extremely sparse and difficult to find without looking very closely at the piece. I think considering what this is, this is in top condition. Very colorful, outstanding Museum size piece for this classic locality.
Size: 24.5 x 12.0 x 10.0 cm (large-cabinet)
