Pegmatites in this region formed from late stage crystallization of granitic magma and can contain coarse crystals of minerals such as feldspar, quartz, and mica.
Purplish red prismatic crystals of elbaite embedded throughout matrix. Collected on October 25, 1996. It is very unusual to find elbaite specimens from Wisconsin available-for-sale today. This is an excellent large display piece.
