The Julie claim, also historically referred to as the Lola claim, is located in the Pamlico mining district near Hawthorne in Mineral County, Nevada. Geologically, this area sits within a region characterized by extensive volcanic activity, localized faulting, and hydrothermal mineralization. The deposit itself features pockets where hot, silicate-rich fluids circulated through fractured rock, allowing for the formation of distinct minerals. While the district was historically worked for gold, lead, and copper, the claim gained specialized historical interest among mineral collectors when it was explored in the mid-to-late twentieth century by prospectors like Dick Jones and Harvey Gordon. This exploration revealed open metamorphic cavities containing highly lustrous, dark-green prismatic crystals of epidote, making the site a notable mineral locality in the state.
