A somewhat rare locality piece, blades of ferberite are quite rich throughout a massive quartz matrix. A good example for the species from this locality. This was collected in April, 1958 from the mine dumps along the St. Francis River.

The Einstein Mine, also known as Einstein Silver Mine or simply Silver Mines, in Madison County, Missouri, is a small historic mining locality in the St. Francois Mountains region. The deposit is a greisen type mineralization developed in altered granitic rocks. Mining activity took place on a limited scale during the late 19th and early 20th centuries and focused on silver that was recovered from argentiferous galena.
