The Flambeau mine in Wisconsin operated only from 1993 to 1997, and is since been completely filled in and restored. During its time it was a very important copper producer, as well as a great producer of find mineral specimens. This current lot shows a good example of the ore minerals from the mine. The lot includes examples of malachite, two bornite specimens, one chalcocite specimen, two sphalerite with pyrite specimens, two chalcocite and pyrite specimens, and one sericite. The largest example in the lot a bornite measuring 16.0 cm across.All of these were mined in 1994. Shipping weight: 15 pounds. Ex Tom Donnelly collection.
