location:
Ehrenfriedersdorf, Saxony, Germany
description: A superb old time German classic combination specimen consisting of a cluster of glassy partly gemmy green crystals of tabular fluorapatite measuring to 4.0 cm in size, this hosting a purple translucent crystal of fluorite 1.5 cm across. This is crystallized completely all around and in excellent condition. Combination specimens such as this one from this old locality are rarely if ever seen on the market. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. Ehrenfriedersdorf, situated in the Ore Mountains of Saxony, Germany, has a rich mining history spanning over 800 years, beginning with medieval alluvial tin extraction in the 13th century followed by intensive underground vein mining at the Sauberg deposit.
