Attractive stalactitic grouping of colorless quartz, these mostly covered with glassy mostly gemmy fluorapophyllite crystals. Very minimal cleaving present, this is in good condition all around. Quite aesthetic.

The Jalgaon district, situated in northern Maharashtra, India, lies within the massive Deccan Volcanic Province, a large igneous province formed by basaltic lava flows approximately 65 million years ago. As these thick flows cooled and contracted, trapped gas bubbles created open vesicles, while tectonic activity produced veins and fissures throughout the dense rock. Over time, low-temperature hydrothermal fluids rich in silica and calcium circulated through these openings, depositing an array of secondary minerals. While the region is primarily a major agricultural hub, local quarrying of the hard basalt for road and construction aggregate beginning in the late twentieth century opened up extensive volcanic pockets. These excavations revealed abundant assemblages of zeolites and associated minerals, specifically lustrous apophyllite, stilbite, and chalcedony, making Jalgaon a major geographical source for Indian volcanic minerals.
