Fluorapophyllite-K with Copper
specimen number:
1791142
location:
Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, USA
description:
Choice old time combination piece, this showing many glassy colorless crystals of tabular fluorapophyllite measuring to 0.7 cm in size across a branching grouping of well-formed native copper crystals. In very good condition with minimal micro-damage present. This would be a really good native copper specimen even if the of fluorapophyllite crystals were not present. The species is rarely seen available from the mining district. The specimen comes with two previous antique labels, one from well-known Lazard Cahn, the other noting this is ex W. Semmons collection. These are shown at the end of the video. An unusual and very fine Michigan classic.
