Nice old time example from this famous Mexican locality, colorless mostly gemmy pseudo-cubic crystals of fluorapophyllite measuring to 0.5 cm in size on a light purple crystallized quartz matrix. Damage is present as seen. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century, if not earlier.

Mining in Guanajuato, Mexico began in the 16th century after rich silver deposits were discovered during the Spanish colonial period. Numerous mines worked hydrothermal vein deposits that contained silver bearing minerals along with gold and other metals. The district became one of the most productive silver mining regions in the world and supported the growth of the city of Guanajuato. Mining continued for many years and the area is also known among collectors for fine mineral specimens from these historic silver veins.
