Beautiful bright lustrous iridescent crystals of fluorite to 0.6 cm in size covering the top of matrix. Classic material for this locality, attractive and in great condition. The iridescent effect comes from a very thin hydrocarbon (petroleum derived) coating on the fluorite surfaces. These organic films, possibly from oil or bituminous material that was present in the mineralizing fluids, produce the shimmering, rainbow like coating that collectors recognize. The specimen comes with a previous collection data card as shown at the end of the video.
