Fluorite
specimen number:
2551177
location:
Joe Larkin's Quarry, Shannapheasteen, Co. Galway, Ireland
description: From a new find in early March, 2018. Specimens from this find have to rank as among the finest fluorite specimens ever to come from Ireland. This one is excellent with glassy gemmy bluish purple cubic crystals to 2.2 cm on edge aesthetic over the front of a 17.0 x 10.0 x 8.0 cm matrix. This is in very fine condition with just very minimal chipping along the extreme edges of the piece. The specimen sits perfectly by itself or display. Most of the specimens from this find with large crystals such as this were not glassy and lustrous; this is one of the better pieces found.
Size: 17.0 x 10.0 x 8.0 cm (large-cabinet)
