Fluorite with Barite
specimen number:
1052420
location:
Templehof, Bergheim, Colmar-Ribeauville, Haut-Rhin, Grand Est, France
description: Old time combination piece with rosy purple crystals of fluorite measuring to 1.0 cm on edge across the top of matrix with bladed crystals of barite. Some damage present as seen, still quite nice. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century if not the 19th century. Tempelhof near Bergheim in Alsace was a small locality or place name within the area rather than a separate town. It did not become Bergheim, but was instead absorbed into the larger Bergheim locality over time. Today the name Tempelhof is no longer commonly used, and specimens or references are typically labeled simply as Bergheim, Haut Rhin, France.
