The top of matrix is covered by attractive golden yellow translucent lustrous crystals of fluorite measuring to 1.2 cm on edge. Small colorless bladed crystals of barite are scattered throughout. In good condition.

The San Diego Mine, part of the historic Santa Barbara mining district in Chihuahua, Mexico, is a major underground operation with a legacy dating back to colonial Spanish discoveries in the sixteenth century. Geologically, the district is situated within a prolific mineralized belt where hydrothermal vein systems and replacement bodies are hosted predominantly within the Cretaceous shales and siltstones of the Parral Formation. The complex tectonic and magmatic history of the region drove metal-bearing fluids through extensive fault and fracture networks, depositing high-temperature economic concentrations of lead, zinc, and copper sulfides alongside silver. Modern operations continue to extract these valuable polymetallic ores from deep underground vein networks.
