A glassy cubic crystal of fluorite 3.0 cm on edge, this very dark in color due to rich inclusions of metallic acicular boulangerite. This is a twinned crystal grouping, and is set on a cluster of crystallized quartz. In very good condition.

The Yaogangxian mine, located in Yizhang County within Hunan Province, China, was officially discovered in 1914 and immediately went into active production as a major industrial source for tungsten and tin. While it has operated commercially for over a century, it gained international renown among mineral collectors beginning in the late 1990s for yielding world-class crystal specimens. Geologically, the deposit is situated in the Nanling metallogenic belt and consists of high-temperature hydrothermal vein systems hosted primarily within Mesozoic granitic intrusions and older sedimentary strata. These granite-derived veins host rich associations of tungsten and tin ores alongside open cavities that produce exceptional aesthetic minerals like fluorite, quartz, and various sulfides.
