Fluorite with Calcite
specimen number:
5002581
location:
Hammam-Zriba mine, Zriba, Zaghouan Governorate, Tunisia
description:
Attractive light purple lustrous and gemmy cubic fluorite crystals measuring to 3.0 cm on edge forming a matrix less cluster with a scalenohedral crystal of calcite. Slight chipping present, this still in good condition. A unique and nice locality example for the species. Collected by Don Edwards in 1997. We did not find much fluorite of collectible quality on our trips to this locality, this one is especially nice as it has some color while most were colorless.
