A colorless gemmy cubic crystal of fluorite 0.6 cm on edge up on a white marble matrix. In good condition. Unique locality for the species. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century. In good condition.

The Carrara district is dominated by high grade marble, and most mineral specimens from the area are limited to calcite, quartz, and a few accessory species formed in fractures. Fluorite occurs only in very limited and sporadic pockets, typically as small crystals associated with hydrothermal veins cutting the marble. Because of this restricted occurrence, well formed fluorite specimens from Carrara are uncommon to scarce, and good examples are rarely seen on the market.
