Fluorite with Quartz
specimen number:
2312110
location:
Yaogangxian Mine, Chenzhou, Hunan, China
description: The Yaogangxian Mine, located in Yizhang County, Hunan Province, China, is a historic underground mining site with extensive operations focused on tungsten, tin, and bismuth extraction. Geologically, the deposit is situated within a region of Paleozoic sedimentary rocks that have been intruded by late Mesozoic granite plutons, driving intense hydrothermal activity. Mineralization occurs primarily within quartz veins that fill fractures in the metasedimentary host rocks. The mine is renowned among mineral collectors for producing well-crystallized specimens of ferberite, scheelite, fluorite, arsenopyrite, etc.
Beautiful combination piece, this showing a glassy gem perfect crystal of quartz hosting gemmy light purple crystals of cubic fluorite to 1.3 cm on edge. Aesthetic and very pretty. Complete all around.
Size: 6.0 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm (small-cabinet)
