description: The Huanggang mines in Inner Mongolia, China, discovered in 1986, represent a super-large skarn-type iron and tin polymetallic deposit located in the southern Greater Khingan Range. Geologically, the deposit was formed during the Early Cretaceous period through intense contact metasomatism and fluid-rock interactions where post-magmatic hydrothermal fluids from Yanshanian granitoid intrusions invaded and reacted with Permian limestone and carbonate strata. This complex geological setting produced extensive skarn zones characterized by rich assemblages of garnet, pyroxene, magnetite, and cassiterite, making the location world-renowned for both its economic metal ores and exceptional mineral specimens.
Gorgeous blue crystals of fluorite measuring to almost 3.0 cm in size across a grouping of snow white opaque quartz crystals. Complete all around, in excellent condition.
